Non-Life Actuary Pricing

Our Global client is looking to recruit for a Commercial Lines Pricing role in its Dublin Office. The role does not require previous pricing experience but does require experience of the Irish Commercial Lines insurance environment. This role will cover products such as Casualty, Property, Financial Lines and SME.

This is a pivotal role within the Dublin office, with a high profile in the organisation. You will interact with and advise senior management and commercial underwriters.  You will be a self-starter, innovative and imaginative, have strong organisation skills, and be constantly looking to change and improve approaches and processes.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • You will work alongside local underwriters to provide actuarial pricing advice on portfolios, large accounts and schemes

  • One of your key strategic roles will be to identify profitable new business and growth opportunities, as well as areas where remedial action is required

  • You can leverage the expertise of other Commercial lines pricing actuaries from entities across the Group, in particular from London

  • You will help with developing portfolio strategies

  • You will train others in the use of rating tools

  • You will be expected to have a proactive approach to enhance the existing pricing tools

  • You will develop Management Information to help business effectively manage existing portfolios

 

Key Requirements

  • Ideal Candidates will have roughly three to seven years relevant actuarial experience

  • The main criterion is good commercial lines experience

  • If you have given up the exams, that is not an issue – common sense and commercial awareness are key to this role.

  • You will have a degree in Mathematics or related discipline, say engineering, actuarial, theoretical physics etc.

  • You will have very good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
